The Secretary to Oyo State Government, Mr Olalekan Alli has identified credible, reliable and accurate data as vital tool for the realisation of Governor Ajimobi led administration’s tripod policy of restoration,transformation and repositioning agenda.
Mr Olalekan Alli disclosed this while declaring open the stakeholders meeting on dissemination of multiple Indicators cluster survey held at the Western Hall secretariat, Ibadan.
He reiterated that the success recorded so far in the state was based on reliable data that assisted the government in formulating and implementing lofty policies that are people oriented.
Alli explained that Oyo state government would continue to rely on adequate data stressing that such would enhance good governance through effective planning and better implementation of government policies.
Earlier in a remark, the Special Adviser to Governor on Economc and Budget, Dr Isiaka Kolawole said the purpose of the meeting was to give reports of 2016 and 2017 multiple indicators survey that were conducted by the UNICEF in partnership with National Bureau of Statistics, pointing out that several surveys had been conducted since 1999 “and this will be the fifth time” .
He said the meeting was also aimed at gathering structured information on the situation of children and women in the state and as well to track the indicators on development programmes geared towards actualization of sustainable development goals.
Dr Kolawole noted that the reports at end of the meeting would afford the state government the opportunities to formulate and implement policies that would better the lives of citizens in the state.
